Here's the Ncrypton paper for Code-Wars 2008. The event Ncrypton is a Code-Wars speciality, only here you'll find these types of tech-problems. This one has only logical clues and no mechanical problems. You have to decode the clues to find something meaningful, tech related. I made all of the questions with a few inspirations ;) Basically the first question part (a) is a lift off. Original creator of Q-1(a) is unknown.
